Jessica Hogan will be leading the teen support group (ages 12 and up) that will be meeting simultaneously with the foster parent support group. The theme for this month will be finding motivation through life's journey. The class will begin by having the kids explore the quote "You are the author of your own life story." They will be watching several video clips of inspirational individuals who have persevered through difficult obstacles. They will also have an open discussion about facts and figures of teens in foster care and how every teen is responsible for their life choices. There will be two teenage girls who have been through foster care who have overcome the adversity in their lives.
Foster Parent and teen support groups are scheduled to meet tomorrow, Wednesday, May 25th from 6-8pm here at the Family Resource Center - 817 N. Country Club. Please email Nikki.Boruch@aafcaz.org if your teen would like to participate or if you have a younger child who needs childcare. No need to register for the parent group - just show up!
